The GreenSEL4VIP project, funded by Erasmus+ (KA220-SCH), promotes inclusion and sustainability in early childhood education. Its main objective is to integrate environmental education and social-emotional learning (SEL) into the curriculum for children aged 3 to 5 with visual impairments (VIP), using multisensory resources and STEAM methodologies. It also seeks to strengthen teachers’ skills in inclusion, digitalization, and sustainability, aligning with European priorities of diversity, combating climate change, and supporting teachers.

The project has three key goals:

  1. Develop accessible educational resources that enable VIP students to participate fully in environmental workshops.
  2. Improve SEL skills (self-awareness, emotional management, empathy, social skills, and decision-making) in inclusive environments.
  3. Train teachers using an innovative curriculum that combines SEL and environmental education with digital technologies.
The results include: Teacher guides, a training curriculum with five SEL modules, and an inclusive toolbox with STEAM activities and audio-described video tutorials.

Main activities

Over a period of 28 months (2025-2028), the following will be developed:

  • A European survey to identify training needs among 180 teachers.
  • Development of inclusive guides and a teaching curriculum in six languages.
  • National and transnational pilots to validate the materials with 60 teachers and 300 children (40 VIP).
  • Creation of a digital toolbox with practical resources and environmental workshops in each country.
All activities incorporate green practices, digital accessibility, and participatory methodologies.
